Britt AM Ep release w/ Scribbens

March 25th at the PG legion! Britt Am is releasing brand new music and being joined by post punk local heroes, Scribbens. More info about Britt’s New release below.

Recorded in the Spring of 2022, Britt A.M.’s newest EP, “Immolation”, will at long last be released on March 24, 2023. Recorded live off the floor under the careful ear of Connor Pritchard at Pulp City Music, “Immolation” is a stylistically eclectic set of songs that ruminates on the discomfort of trying to heal old wounds and stay connected to a declining natural world while the internet delivers our deepest annoyances and fears at lightning speed. Backed by the skillful playing of Nathan Kelly on lead guitar, Brin Porter on bass, and Justin Gendreau on drums, “Immolation” starts gently with the vintage swing of “Bless the Moon”, ramping up through a series of progressively heavier songs until the blistering finale, “Block”. Britt A.M.’s presence on this EP leans into her love for being loud, while holding space for her old friend, mellow melancholy, setting the tone for her future appearances and releases.

Danny Bell & His Disappointments w/ Yer Pal Hal

danny bell and his disappointments play northern bc folk/country/punk with infections charm.  based in british columbia on unceded lhedli t'enneh territory, danny’s music is regional. it’s steeped in his affection for his home in the hinterland, a blue collar town, the stink of the pulp mill, and everyday life in northern bc. bell's songs toe the line between tragedy and comedy.

danny bell and his disappointments released their second album, “songs for the town”, in december of 2020. exclaim! magazine called the album an “anti-capitalist, anti-elitist, anti-asshole folk record for small moments in small places.”the band’s newest release, titled killing birds, was mostly recorded in the foreman’s office in an abandoned sawmill just outside of mackenzie, bc.  the ep’s songs are reactions to a change in pace and identity during the pandemic. the slow pace and isolation of a part-time security job brought new perspective.

Britt AM w/ No Big D and Scribbens

Tickets $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Pre-sales available at madloon.ca until 6pm day of show. Doors at 8pm, show at 9pm.

Britt A.M. marries a punk rock sense of urgency to melodic protest songs. Backed up by a stalwart band full of Northern B.C.’s finest, Britt A.M.’s set takes the crowd from toe-tapping to tear-stifling and back around to cutting a rug, all whilst pondering (here it is) the state of the world today.

No Big D are a four-piece party starter from the outskirts of Quesnel, BC. They formed after a Halloween Party at Electric Lackeyland and despite their name, quickly became a big deal to the four women involved. With multiple songwriters, sharing vocal duties and a collaborative approach, they wasted no time crafting a set list of all original tunes. Their individual styles are eclectic, adding a dynamic edge to their songwriting. On stage there is no doubt that these four friends are in their happy place, so come see what all the fuss is about!

Scribbens is a PG-based trio with Corbin Spensley, Nigel Hanks, and Clayton Poutney. They play prog garage punk songs reminiscent of The Minute Men.
